The provincial government is increasing the amount of money for infrastructure for the city, as well as the ridings of Thunder Bay-Atikokan and Superior North.
Area politicians made the announcement this morning, saying the city itself will go from the current 1.4-million dollars to 5.5-million by 2019, annually.
Mayor Keith Hobbs is pleased with the move, adding what he really likes is that the money doesn’t have to be spent immediately.
The ridings will get an increase of 5.4-million dollars, the money used for roads, bridges and sewer repairs.
