Holodomor Tour Comes To Town

Thunder Bay residents have an opportunity to learn about some dark Soviet/Ukrainian history dating back to the early 30’s.

The Holodomor National Awareness Tour stops in town August 9th, showing what it was like for Ukrainians who resisted Stalin’s desire for their land. He wanted it to start his own industrial revolution. They refused so he attempted to starve them.

Spokesperson Roma Dzerowicz says the Soviet-orchestrated famine will be featured in a 40-foot RV rebuilt into a theatre able to seat up to 30 people.

Dzerowicz says it’s important for people to realize genocides still happen around the world.
