Feds Supporting Another Homeless Survey

The federal government says it’s providing $3 million to social agencies across the country for another homeless survey.

The Point-In-Time count was organized in Thunder Bay last year by the Lakehead Social Planning Council and the Indian Friendship Centre.

Spokesperson Marie Klassen says the information gathered last year was amazing and invaluable.

She says they were able to find out who’s homeless, why they’re homeless and other critical data.

Klassen says the council will now apply to access the funding so they can hold a count next year.
