The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority is planning some big projects for 2017.
Chair Donna Blunt says the LRCA will study ways to control erosion along the Kam River this year.
She says they’re going to do $655,000 worth of maintenance on the Neebing-McIntyre floodway, along with clearing sediment out of the diversion channel near Ford Street and Parkway Drive.

That money represents around 40% of Thunder Bay’s contribution to the LRCA this year; it’s getting just over $1.5 million from City Hall on top of levies from other municipalities. (Staff Photo)
