A city committee wants to implement a tax relief program for heritage property owners.
Its members are asking councillors at their meeting tonight, to direct administration to create a report outlining the options and costs associated with establishing such an incentive.
Chair Andrew Cotter says the committee thinks there will be a lot of uptake in the program.
Cotter says preserving heritage buildings increases property value, which in turn increases assessment values for the city.
