Reaction is being called mixed to the announcement by Confederation College that its axing the motorcycle training program.
Spokesperson Don Bernosky says there are a number of people in the community who are stepping forward to possibly keep it going through the private sector.
He says the college is working with local partners to try to provide a venue for the program and possibly even the motorcycles.
He says that’ll be decided in the next month or so.
The college says it’s not providing the program anymore due to resource priorities and health and safety concerns.
As well, Bernosky points out, the program isn’t funded by the government and requires users to fund the tuition.
