Mill managers, experts and community stakeholders are brainstorming ideas on how forest cutting rights can be reformed.
They spent a day in Thunder Bay today discussing forest industry issues.
Dryden’s Domtar Forestlands Manager Jack Harrison was one of the speakers and says it’s really about hearing from other companies and seeing how they’re accessing their wood. Fort Frances Mayor Roy Avis felt the conference was very beneficial to him and his community.
He’s confident information was shared which can be helpful in finding a buyer for the now idled Resolute mill.
The Ministry of Natural Resources kicked off the day long conference with an update on forest tenure and what the government is doing to help ensure mills get access to wood. (File Photo)
