The process of getting a new anchor tenant for the Intercity Mall is still in the early stages.
Mall manager Stacey Ball says they’re actively looking for a company to fill the retail space that will be vacated when Target closes its Thunder Bay store this spring. Ball says anything is possible even splitting the area into sections to accommodate a number of stores.
She says that regardless of who fills that void, it’s not going to happen immediately and that portion of the mall is likely to remain empty for awhile after Target leaves.
