Boulevard Lake is scheduled for upgrades.
Project Engineer Mike Vogrig says maintenance on its dam includes replacing railings, and widening the deck-top to make the area easier for pedestrians.
Vogrig says, however, this means it’ll have to be drained. He says the plan moving forward is to drain the Lake June 15, adding once it’s drained, it’ll stay drained for the remainder of the season.
As a result, Lakehead University has announced the cancellation of its triathalon, since they usually use the Lake for the race.
