Ottawa Man to be Charged in Triple Homicide Cold Case

The Ottawa man accused of robbing and trying to kill a 101 year old war veteran has been linked to a seven year old triple homicide in that city. The Ottawa Citizen is reporting that Ian Bush will be charged with the deaths of retired tax court judge Alban Garon, his wife, Raymonde, and their neighbour, Marie-Claire Beniskos, who were found dead eight years ago in the Garons’ home. The Citizen says Bush has been linked through DNA evidence. Bush is currently undergoing psychiatric examination at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and is expected to be charged Friday after he is returned to the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre. Bush has been held since Dec. 20, when his family turned him in to face charges that he tried to kill Second World War veteran Ernest Cote in an attack that shocked the country.
