Byelection Date Set In Sudbury

Premier Kathleen Wynne is setting February the 5th as the date for a controversial byelection in Sudbury.

It’s being called to replace NDP-MPP Joe Cimino who resigned due to family reasons. The controversy crept in because the Liberal candidate in that riding is former NDP-MP Glenn Thibeault who defected from the Mulcair New Democrats in Ottawa.

He was chosen over the protests of the Liberal candidate in last June’s provincial election, Andrew Olivier.
