Receiver Named For Mitomics Bankruptcy

Now that the medical-tech company Mitomics is officially bankrupt, the Superior Court is appointing a receiver to deal with their money issues.
In court Thursday, Dodick Landau Incorporated was given the job with the intention of coming back to court to deal further with the matter in three to four weeks time.
One of their creditors is the Regional Health Sciences Centre and Spokeswoman Tracy Smith says Mitomics owes them rent money.
Mayor Keith Hobbs says its bad news for the City’s medical sector but fortunately they didn’t put any money into the venture.
The company formerly known as Genesis Genomics provided DNA testing and cancer testing devices.
The provincial and federal governments however provided the firm with cash. (Photo by Sheri Leviski Kotyk)
