The OPP in the northwest are celebrating themselves and regular folks.
Top brass were in town Wednesday to pay tribute to officers and pedestrians who helped save the lives of others.
Commissioner Vince Hawkes says it’s really touching to hear how a young woman in Dryden helped save the life of an off duty police officer who crashed in a ditch.
This years winners also include a Thunder Bay communications operator who worked overtime while speaking over the phone to a distraught man who had barricaded himself with a weapon.
