Greens Want A Say

The Green candidates in both Thunder Bay ridings are frustrated about not being included in an upcoming debate.
Thunder Bay-Superior North Green candidate Joseph Leblanc says the provincial Green candidates were not invited to an upcoming debate held by the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber says they wanted to showcase the province’s three main political parties.
The Liberal, NDP, and PC candidates in Thunder Bay will be at the debate, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce,
slated for June 5th at Fort William Historical Park.
Leblanc says the Chamber told the Greens they could buy tickets for the debate if they wished to attend.
Thunder Bay-Atikokan Green candidate John Northey is also expressing his displeasure about the exclusion from the debate.
Northey says there are more than three parties running in the election, adding that they should be able to present their views for their ridings.
The Greens will have a say tomorrow night at a free forum at Lakehead University’s Outpost Campus Pub, hosted by the University’s Student Union.
Leblanc says anyone can come ask questions, which he feels is important, adding that all parties should have a say leading up to the election.
Leblanc says LUSU stepped up and showed tremendous leadership within the community by hosting a debate for all candidates.
Tomorrow night’s debate gets underway at 7:00, and will feature Thunder Bay-Superior North candidates for the Liberals, NDP, PC’s, Greens, and the Northern Ontario Heritage Party.
