A massive drug bust by Thunder Bay Police after they received warrants for two separate residences, the first on Balsam Street and the second on County Boulevard.
In total, $770,000 were seized and more than $50,000 in cash.
The warrants were obtained after an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the city involving individuals from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The investigation and execution of warrants were done with the assistance of the TBPS’s Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit, K9 Unit, Emergency Task Unit, and Major Crimes Unit.
Police entered the homes the night of Dec. 1, bringing into custody seven people, five of whom were from the GTA.
A search of the homes led to the seizure of cocaine, heroin, hydromorphone capsules, fentanyl, crack cocaine, crystal meth, fentanyl, a loaded handgun, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

All of the arrested appeared in bail court Dec. 2, and will remain in custody with future court dates.
