5 Things I Am Excited About For Bluesfest

So unless you moved to Thunder Bay in the last 8 seconds you know that Bluesfest is this weekend at the Marina. You also know the VIP tickets sold out in the blink of an eye and the weekend passes for general admission didn’t take much longer. It is an event that many people plan their summer around. It is an exciting weekend for the city with the brand new stage that debut last year that has raised the event to another level.

So here are 5 things I am excited for this weekend.

5. Alfie Zappacosta will celebrate his birthday Friday and will take the stage on Saturday night. Born in Italy he has become a staple of the Canadian music scene. His hits Nothing Can Stand In Your Way and We Should Be Lovers no doubt will ringing across Prince Arthur’s Landing. Now a days his focus more on a smooth jazz sound but for his show here he is bringing the band the all the hits back.

4. More room in the VIP area. If you attended Bluesfest the last couple of years with sell out crowds the VIP area gets pretty crowded when the big acts hit the stage. Organizers have made some changes for this year so should be an even better experience.

3. Amanda Marshall is back. Wow what a performance 2 years ago. She can still belt out the hits and while some stars lose a bit as they age not Amanda. And best of all she is a super nice person.

2. What would Bluesfest be without an elephant ear. The wait in line is worth it. Get the apple on top. Hats off to all the vendors and people working to feed and water this huge crowd.

1. Bryan Adams. This is a big deal that he is coming to our city when he tours all over the world and only plays so many dates a year and he chose us.

If you have tickets enjoy the show. Be safe. Be smart. If you don’t have tickets did I mention we have a pair of VIP tickets we are giving away Friday morning. Enter here. Remember you have
