48 fires burning in Northwestern Ontario

Forty-eight fires are burning across Northwestern Ontario.

One was put out yesterday, and two popped up since.

Firefighters are keeping an eye on one, while another is burning out of control at a little less than one hectare in size east of Gull Lake.

Overall, 10 fires are out of control, two are being held, and nine are under control.

The fire hazard risk varies from low to moderate for most of the region.
