Province Reports 1,691 COVID-19 Cases Sunday

Ontario is reporting 1,691 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.

This results from just over 31,000 completed tests, with 15 Ontarians losing their lives as a result of the virus.

It’s the third day in a row with fewer than 2,000 new cases.

The update comes as the province opens up vaccines to youth aged 12 and older.

As of 8 p.m. on Saturday, Ontario has administered more than 8 million vaccines, more than half the population now having at least their initial dose.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit will provide their next COVID case count update Tuesday due to the long weekend.

The next provincial update will not occur until Tuesday as well.
