A woman is able to get out of her home without injuries after flames broke out on the city’s south side.
Firefighters arrived early Friday morning to find thick smoke coming from the Rowand Street residence, and called for backup.
Crews broke into the basement and extinguished the fire, which they say was key in saving the rest of the home and reducing the damage to the structure.
Fire officials are investigating to determine how it broke out.
