Queen’s Park might have some extra attention early next week.
The NDP will table a motion calling for the re-opening of outdoor facilities.
NDP Deputy Leader Sarah Singh stress the government is ignoring the advice of their own experts.
“Outdoor recreation is not where we’re seeing the spread of COVID-19,” she says. “In fact, limiting access to outdoor recreation is having a devastating impact on people’s mental health and well-being.”
Meanwhile, the Minister responsible for Tourism and Sport, Lisa MacLeod, says the NDP is simply playing politics with this motion.
“I’ve been working with Golf Ontario and others to try and remind them [that] another two weeks of limited mobility is really the key here,” she emphasizes.
The motion will be put to a vote on Monday.
