Rainbow On Bay Gets Cannabis Approval

There’s now one more place to buy cannabis in the city with Rainbow on Bay securing its license from the province.

Manager Mackenzie Davis says the store is now licensed, and began selling pot on Saturday. Sales will also begin at their May Street location in the near future.

Davis says it feels good to get approved, noting the store has been applying for a license since the province first opened applications.

“I believe it’s a good thing that more stores are getting approved. The rollout of recreational cannabis stores was initially very slow, and the government is definitely ramping up licensing,” he told our newsroom over email.

“We are the first store open in Port Arthur, and with Rainbow having been open since 1989, most people already know about us,” Davis says. “Now we just have to get the word out that we sell cannabis.”

Rainbow Thunder Bay Cannabis Accessories joins Tokyo Smoke, J. Supply Co., Cannabis Plus Store, Kia Ora Kannabis, and Toke House as approved cannabis retail stores.
