Hospital COVID Cases At 47

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre continues to find itself dealing with dozens of COVID-19 cases.

As of today, there are 47 people in the hospital with the virus and 13 of those are in the Intensive Care Unit.

The capacity at the hospital is now at 77 percent.

Meantime, the hospital’s vaccine clinic is back in operation with the arrival of vaccine supplies and the focus remaining on health care workers.

As a result of the province’s directive, health officials will now be separating the time between the first and second doses of the vaccine to four months.

They will be contacting those who have already received the vaccine to reschedule the second dose.

In addition, the hospital continues to do a juggling act with its surgeries trying to prioritize who gets an operation and who does not.
