For the third day in a row, the number of people in Ontario with the coronavirus is below 2,000.
Premier Doug Ford says the reason is simple, people are following the protocols from the province’s chief medical officer of health
“This is what happens when we all listen. Stay at home, follow the rules, the numbers go down, less stress on the hospitals, less stress on ICUs, less stress on everyone,” notes the premier.
There were 1, 670 COVID-19 cases reported in the province today with 49 deaths.
Wednesday’s count of new COVID-19 cases for the Thunder Bay Health Unit is 12.
But, on the positive side, 16 people are now listed as resolved.
Of the new one’s today, three are split between the jail and correctional centre, while 7 others are from close contact with another infected person.
It is not known how the other two people got the virus.
The health unit puts the current active caseload now at 146.
There have now been 891 people in the district to get the virus since last March, and 26 deaths. Two people are currently in hospital, one in the ICU.
