Re-vote Needed For Legacy Project

A technical error means City Council has to re-vote on funding for the waterfront Thunder Bay sign.

Monday night, McIntyre Councillor Albert Aiello wasn’t able to vote on the matter because of connection issues, as he was part of the meeting remotely. However, the motion was recorded as approved, due to some confusion after the votes were given by each councillor.

City officials say they need to bring it back at the next meeting for proper transparency.

The vote was on whether to fund the sign through the hotel tax. Council believed they voted to make it part of the 2021 budget discussions.
