Ford Promises Broadband Services

The provincial government is ramping up efforts to get federal help to expand broadband services in northern Ontario.

Premier Doug Ford stresses he’s beating the drum for funding non-stop and has no plans on letting up.

“There’s no infrastructure project, no trains, no subways, no roads, no bridges that are more important to the people of Ontario, especially in rural communities, than broadband. It changes their lives,” Ford says.

Ford says he recently raised the issue with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Deputy Prime Minister.

He claims his government has put $315-million into making sure broadband is more accessible across the province.

Ford believes it will cost about $10- to $15-billion to do the entire province.
