A high profile court case in the city will now be a manslaughter trial, not a murder trial.
Brayden Bushby’s lawyer George Joseph confirmed that following a conference Friday it was agreed the second-degree murder charge against his client would be downgraded.
The 21-year-old Bushby is charged after an alleged incident in January of 2017 involving a trailer hitch thrown out of a moving vehicle at Barbara Kentner.
She passed away in July of that same year.
The trial will also be before a judge and not a jury and take place the week of October 12th.
