Man Charged After Walmart Theft

A 35-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing charges after items were taken from a Walmart store.

Police say they were called to the store on Arthur Street West around 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon about a shoplifter claiming to have a gun.

Police found store security watched him put merchandise into a bag, leave the store, and when asked to return the goods, the accused said he had a gun and fled. A short time later, with the help of police dogs, he was arrested in an alley between Sifton and Chilton Avenues, but not without a brief struggle.

Police add he remains in custody, also charged with four counts of breach of probation.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
