A 17-year-old Thunder Bay youth has been charged with a number of child pornography related offenses.
City police say they became aware of someone locally suspected of downloading sexual abuse material in May. A number of homes were linked to this, but they narrowed it down to the one user.
On August 20th, police searched two homes, which eventually led them to their suspect, who was found at a north end home. Police say they found child porn material on his phone, including the fact they say he was sharing it with others on the internet.
He was arrested August 25th, charged with numerous offenses, and released with conditions. Police add he has a court date of October 1st.
He cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
