Mauro Optimistic About Mask Order Compliance

The Mayor says most people seem to be following the Health unit’s mandatory mask order in the first few days since it took effect.

Businesses and other organizations had to start requiring masks or other face covers starting on Friday.

Bill Mauro says he does expect there will be difficulties with the mask requirement, but he hasn’t encountered any yet.

Mauro says he saw plenty of people on Friday wearing masks in stores. While it’s only been a few days since the rules took effect, he feels things are going well.

“As far as I’m understanding it at this point, it seems to have been a natural next step for the community,” Mauro says, although he points out some people are exempt from the order for medical reasons.

Mauro expects most people understand the mask order is for the good of the community and about looking out for the people around you.

The mayor is optimistic that people will continue to follow the mandatory mask order as the weeks go on.
