Local health officials are grateful for new beds from Dufresne Furniture.
Gail Brescia is the Executive Director of St. Joseph’s Foundation and says ten beds are going to Sister Margaret Smith Centre for addictions and mental health treatment.
“It really touches your heart,” Brescia says. “You know the need and you know the journey the people with addictions and mental health are going through and how important this is to them.”
Another ten beds were delivered to Wilson Place supportive housing.
Nancy Black, Vice President of addictions and mental health with St. Joseph’s Care Group says they appreciate what this will do for their clients.
“Recovery is very hard work, so having a safe place to be, a comfy bed to sleep in, and healthy nutrition makes all the difference toward taking those first steps and being comfortable in doing so,” she says.
Josh Pitton with Dufresne Furniture says they wanted to help out the community.
“There are 12 communities Dufresne serves, and we all live in these 12 communities. To be able to give back to all 12 this year, I think, is really important especially in this unprecedented time,” Pitton explains.
