Hospital Finalizing Mask Policy

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre will soon make the wearing of masks mandatory.

Dr. Stewart Kennedy tells us the directive will come into effect by the end of this week or early next week.

“Any patient coming in for an x-ray procedure, (visiting) the emergency department, it is expected they will wear a mask, ” explains the hospital’s COVID-19 spokesperson.

Dr. Kennedy adds patients are expected to bring their own masks but no one will be turned away noting, “If we have some extra additional masks we will actually request a small donation from the people who can’t bring a mask or find a mask.”

He calls wearing a mask “The respectful thing to do.”
