It’s not going to be feasible to keep the Canada/US border closed indefinitely according to our Federal Health Minister.
Patty Hajdu told Acadia Broadcasting’s John Ongaro, they are working on a plan for when they do eventually reopen our borders.
“So we are going to be trying to figure out how we do a better job of understanding who is coming into Canada and who they are having contact with. How we can prevent the surge of disease from importing cases from around the world including the US,” Hajdu said.
On the weekend, government officials decided to extend border restrictions with the United States for another 30 days.
The federal government is also now meeting once a week in person with a select number of MPs, with other meetings taking place virtually.
