Ford Says He’ll Cancel School If He Needs To

Premier Doug Ford admits students could stay home longer than May 4th, if the COVID-19 conditions don’t improve.

Ford told Acadia Broadcasting’s John Ongaro, he will cancel the school year if the situation requires it.

“I won’t hesitate to cancel the year if the Medical Officer of Health is saying that’s the thing to do, my priority is the health and safety of our kids,” Ford said.

The Premier admitted they are making decisions on an hourly basis with the most up to date information as possible.

Ford says the next three weeks will be tough times and we will get through it. He stresses that’s why it is so important to do your part to help stop the spread of the virus.
