Week two of the Keith Hobbs extortion trial begins this morning at the Thunder Bay Courthouse.
When court recessed for the weekend it was assumed the key witness would be back on the stand. The lawyer for co-accused Mary Voss, George Joseph, is cross-examining that witness. He has been referred to as the alleged victim because of a media ban.
Former mayor Hobbs, his wife Marisa, and co-accused Mary Voss are accused of trying to get a $400,000 house from the alleged victim. Four weeks have been set aside for the proceedings.
The trial has so far revealed some eye-opening testimony from the key witness and the relationships between the alleged victim and the accused individuals. They included text messages and videos which were read and played in court.
