AUDIO: Those Who Gave All Remembered

It’s Remembrance Day and ceremonies will be held in Thunder Bay at the Waverly Park Cenotaph and at the Fort William Gardens.

There’s also a service on Mount McKay to remember the First Nations soldiers who gave their lives in the wars.

You’re being asked to arrive by 10:30 for the services.

The Silver Cross mother at the Gardens will be Ms. Maureen Schmidt, while Carol Klukie will be honoured at the Cenotaph.

We took our news mic into the community and asked “If there’s anything you could say to a veteran, or Canadian currently in combat, what would it be?”

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
