2018 has been an excellent year for small businesses, according to BDC spokesperson Michael Nitz.
Nitz tells us Canada has had more businesses start up than any other year in the past decade.
“So the trend is continuing up. More and more people are interested in entrepreneurship; actually, 24% of people are interested in owning their own business someday. More women getting involved, and they now represent 39% of all entrepreneurs in Canada.”
Local businesses took part in several workshops and networking events to mark Small Business Week.
The BDC spokesperson tells us they want local residents to show their support by paying their favourite local business a visit.
