Take Back The Night Takes Over LU

Students and members of our community will be taking to the Lakehead University campus tonight to take a stand against violence.

Take Back The Night, an international movement to end systemic violence is being championed by Lakehead University’s Gender Equity Center according to spokesperson Kasey Egan.

“We still live in a society where folks are afraid to go out at night, to run at night and ‘Take Back The Night’ is really a way of telling everyone we are tired of it, we are exhausted.”

The event is running from 6:30 until 9:00 and will involve self-identifying women and members of the queer community.
