RFDA Feels Financial Constraints

There’s increased pressure on the Regional Food Distribution Association.

Executive Director Volker Kromm tells us there’s more need for their food bank services and provincial government budget cuts have a ripple effect on our community.

“When there are cutbacks it hits municipalities, municipalities then hit us and other small organizations. It has a domino effect and we all feel the pinch.”

The food bank official notes they are in need of financial donations since there is an increased cost in transportation, electricity and healthy food prices.

To combat the growing need in the community, Kromm says the RFDA will be working with their counterparts in the community and region to help find solutions to poverty.
