The Executive Director of Our Kids Count is hoping today’s Half-Way Motors 5 Aces ATV Fall Classic Poker Run in Kakabeka Falls will be well received.
Gladys Berringer tells us they have high hopes for the fundraiser.
“Last year’s event raised over $30,000 for us, so I’m not sure if that’s too ambitious or not with a new location but if we could hit the $20,000 mark that would be awesome.”
The event started early this morning and will wrap up around six tonight.
Berringer says the fundraiser is crucial to them since they will be facing increased funding shortages in the year ahead due to provincial funding changes for the District Social Services Board.
