Port Arthur’s Rotary Club is giving $10,000 to nine local organizations.
Spokesperson Kevin Holloway tells us members fundraised throughout the year so they could give back to local groups.
One of the organizations that received money is the local CNIB which will use the funds to buy accessible technology for visually handicapped people.
Shelter House is using their share of the funding to replace beds. Officials tell us they are in constant need of new frames, spring and plywood and the new beds will be used in the female dormitory.
