It appears the city’s rat prevention efforts are working.
A report coming to City Council tonight says city and Health Unit officials reported a total of 331 rat sightings in 2017, 187 last year, and just 30 so far this year.
It’s recommending Council continue the Rat Prevention and Control program, which started last June.
The program teaches residents how to keep rats off of their property, and includes educational resources available at the Health Unit, local libraries, and city offices.
