City House Prices Compare Well With Other Cities

Buying a house in Thunder Bay remains relatively affordable when compared with other places in Canada.

The latest housing price survey by Royal LePage Real Estate shows the overall average price of a home in the city the first three months of this year was about 255,000.

Compare that to Toronto at $830,000 or Vancouver at $1.2 million.

The cost of a two-story home in the first quarter of 2019 in the city was around $285,000 which is up about 8.5 percent compared to a year ago at the same time.

The average price of a bungalow in Thunder Bay was down around 7.5 percent to about $225,000.
