The Regional Hospital is encouraging you to get screened for cervical cancer.
It’s part of their month-long Pap-A-Palooza campaign where they hope to see more pap tests booked in the region.
Officials say in the Northwest, 4 out of every 10 people eligible for screening haven’t had a pap test, or are overdue.
They add cervical cancer is almost completely preventable if you get screened regularily, follow up on any unusual results, and get vaccinated against the Human Papillomavirus.
Regional Hospital officials say the campaign has helped boost the number of people getting screened, and they hope to do 400 tests this year alone.
