NDP MPP Stands By Disturbing Question Period

Thunder Bay Atikokan MPP Judith Monteith-Farrell is standing behind her decision to disrupt Question Period on Wednesday.

Monteith-Farrell tells us it was a rare occassion and something they felt was needed in objection of the PC government’s decision to ignore a court rulilng and proceed to cut Toronto City Council in half.

“This government hasn’t allowed any bill that they’ve proposed to go to committee. They have shortened the number of hours they’ve allowed for debate. Their idea is they are going to ram through items without sober thought and they are making bad decisions and ending up in court.”

The NDP member tells us she was taken out of Question Period after banging on her desk and feels her actions were warranted.
