$15K Goal For Princess Ball

It’s almost time for a major fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis community.

Spokesperson Viktoria Kimmerle tells us we are one week away from the fifth annual the Princess Ball at the Da Vinci Centre.

The major fundraiser is next Sunday at the Da Vinci Centre from 11:30 until 4.

“We’d like to match what we did last year, which was just over $15,000. We would very much like to reach that goal again, or surpass it.”

Cystic Fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems.

Kimmerle notes the reaction from the kids who take part is also its own reward.

“Their jaws drop and their eyes light up and they look and feel like they’ve stepped into an actual fairy tale. It’s one of the most rewarding feelings you could ever have.”

Kimmerle tells us that money raised from this event goes towards the CF travelling clinic.

“It helps pay for the doctors to come and do local clinics, as there aren’t any here, and almost everyone has to travel to Toronto. Not everyone can, though, so having them come here is really important.”
