109th Hymers Fair Going Virtual

The Hymers Fall Fair is going virtual for another year.

President of the Hymers Agricultural Society Randy Creighton explains it’s exciting but suggests they’re looking forward to when they can get back to in-person events.

“Well, we’re very disappointed that we can’t have a real fair, but this is the next best thing. The virtual fair will get people involved, and keep them interested in our fair,” he points out.

The 109th annual fair will involve several activities over the summer and wrap up on the fair’s usual date on the Labour Day weekend.

Creighton says while they are still working out the details, they know some of the usual fair activities will once again be online.

“We’re going to invite people to send pictures of their crafts, and their floral arrangements and their gardens and produce, and we’ll judge those through the photos,” he explains.

He says because last year’s event was a success, they’re also adding more activities like craft demonstrations and classes.
