Youth facing charges following robbery investigation

A 17-year-old is facing charges in Thunder Bay after allegedly robbing two teenagers at knifepoint.

Officers were sent to Arthur Street West just after midnight on Sunday after receiving a report of a robbery involving a weapon.

A man had approached the teens holding a knife, and he stole a bicycle.

Officers located a man matching the description of the suspect, but the individual ran.

The same individual was located and arrested nearby on Ottawa Street, attempting to break into a home.

As a result, the accused has been charged with robbery, mischief under $5,000, trespassing at night, resisting a peace officer, and breach of probation.

The identity of the accused cannot be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
