You Say It’s Your Birthday?!

This week marks the one year anniversary since the launch of 99.9 The Bay. I’ll likely wax poetic on it later on this week as we get closer to the actual date (technically it’s Saturday but we’ll be celebrating all week!) however I’d like to share something with you. We’ll be having a bit of a birthday party this Wednesday evening at Marina Park. We’ll be down there from 6-9 celebrating one year of The Bay along with a few of our closest friends and we hope you’ll come along as well! The event is free and The City has helpfully booked The World Dance Collective to perform for us, as well as an amazing band from Toronto named Choir!Choir!Choir! If you’re unfamiliar with them, they are an amazing group of people who have taken sing-alongs to a new level. They take popular songs and rearrange them for large groups to sing. The set list they will be performing for us this Wednesday focuses on Canadian songs and while I don’t know the complete set list, the big finisher will be a song that brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it and I dare say, it will likely have me sobbing with joy on Wednesday. The song? Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen! The band is a LOT of fun and if you’d like to see what you are in for, I’ve included a few clips of theirs below. They do some VERY cool things!

Okay, I admit it, Wednesday is actually the final Live on the Waterfront for the season but it’s a great time for us to celebrate and have a bit of a party before summer ends. As usual, it takes place from 6-9 and it is free for the entire family. I’ll be there with my 3 boys (who will be staying up WAY past bedtime, sorry Mom) John and Kev will be there with their families and many other folks from our Acadia family will be on hand for the evening as well. Please come down and party with us (there will be some surprises throughout the evening), and make sure to come say hello!!
