A 21-year-old woman is in the intensive care unit at the hospital after being hit by a pickup truck.
Police say the incident on Thursday night saw the driver of a Dodge Ram take evasive actions to avoid hitting one of the pedestrians crossing on Dawson Road but in doing so hit the young woman.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old Thunder Bay man, did not sustain any injuries.
The roadway was closed for several hours as the Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit attended the scene to gather evidence.
