Wimbledon Cancelled

For the first time since 1945, the Wimbledon tennis tournament has been cancelled.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club says it is “due to public health concerns linked to the coronavirus epidemic.”

The club says the 134th Championships will instead be staged from June 28th to July 11th of 2021.

Wimbledon is the world’s oldest Grand Slam tennis event and was last stopped during the Second World War.

Earlier, the French Open, which was to have taken place in May, was postponed until September.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
